Ann M. Thacker, age 79, of Peotone, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Prairieview Lutheran Home in Danforth, IL.
She was born on February 29, 1940 in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Otto and Lois (Pulsipher) Schaefer. She married Bernard E. “Bernie” Thacker on December 6, 1958 in Saybrook, IL. He passed away on August 7, 2007. Ann was the Branch Manager and Coordinator for Homewood Federal Bank in Peotone. She later worked as a teller for Peotone Bank and Trust, then for First Midwest Bank in Peotone until retiring. She was a 50-year member of Peotone United Methodist Church in Peotone where she served as treasurer and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed photography, gardening, mowing grass, sewing, and quilting.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Sherri Thacker of Manteno, IL; her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jim Clarke of Fishers, IN; her grandchildren, Matt (Melissa Thatch) Mort, Bob Mort, Joe Mort, Brittany Thacker, Chris Thacker, Brandy Neufeld, and Renae (Shawn) Pierce; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Becca, Tyler, Lexi, Collin, Tre Jon, and Lucas; her sister, Jean Hiles of Watseka, IL; her brother, Larry (Sid) Schaefer of Saybrook, IL; her sister-in-law, Caroline Schaefer of Colfax, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Carol Mosson; and 2 brothers, John and Dale Schaefer.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, September 27 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Wesbein United Methodist Church, 113 N. Main St., Saybrook, IL 61770 on Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Wayne Giermann officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Saybrook, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Peotone United Methodist Church, Prairieview Lutheran Home, or Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
