Barbara Waldvogel

Barbara Joyce Waldvogel, age 76, of Peotone, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Miller Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kankakee.

She was born on June 18, 1944 in Chicago, the daughter of Hobert and Helen (Hartman) Axsom.  She was a retired registered nurse.  Barbara was a lifelong advocate and lover of animals of all shapes and sizes; particularly her dogs, horses, and llamas.  She was also passionate about spending time with her family, being outdoors and enjoying nature and gardening.

She is survived by 2 sons, David Waldvogel of Peotone, IL and Dennis Waldvogel of Los Angeles, CA; 2 sisters, Sandra Allen of Momence, IL and Janice Dalton of Westchester, IL; and a brother, John Axsom of Houston, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Dale Allen Waldvogel on June 13, 2020.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  There will be an outdoor memorial service celebrating the lives of Barbara and her son, Dale, at the family farm in Peotone on Saturday, November 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, Barbara's family suggests a donation in her name to an animal charity of your choice.
