Bernice Werner

Bernice Werner, age 93, of rural Peotone, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
Bernice was born on December 6, 1922 in Kankakee, the daughter of the late Maurice and Louise DuVoisin. She married the late Wilbur P. Werner on November 14, 1942 in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1995. She was a founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. She enjoyed reading, loved flowers, and most of all was a dedicated farmer’s wife and loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three children; Barbara (John) Hunter of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Donna (Larry) Shivers of Viola, IL, and Dale (Catherine) Werner of Peotone; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Snezhana “Zsa Zsa”.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 N. Conrad St.,
Peotone, IL on Saturday, February 6 from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Saturday, February 6 at 11:00 a.m., Father Denis White officiating. Interment will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials to the Peotone Paramedics would be appreciated.
