Carol A. Vankat, age 84, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at her home in Monee, IL.
She was born on October 14, 1936 in Oak Lawn, IL, the daughter of Alvin and Luella (Dueshop) Krueger. She married Bruce Vankat on September 27, 1958. He passed away on September 12, 2015. Carol’s family was the most important thing in her life and she loved spending time with all of them. She also loved her cat, Wrigley.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl (Joseph) Brann of St. John, IN and Diane (Charles) Brenner of Peotone, IL. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Joseph Mantoan. She is survived by her grandchildren, Mathew Brann, Caitlin Brann, Ariel (Anthony) Hernandez, Hannah Brenner, Sarah Brenner, Anthony Mantoan, Jessica Brenner, and Alex Mantoan; her great-grandchildren, Ava, Emmalee. Mariana, and Aubree; a sister, Betty Patch of Wheaton, IL; a sister-in-law, Martha Krueger of Oak Lawn, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce; her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Joseph Mantoan; and a brother, Alvin Krueger.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Rev.
