Charles Weidinger Jr.

Charles E. Weidinger Jr., age 69, of Peotone, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home.

He was born on May 23, 1952 in Chicago, the son of Charles Sr. and Harriet (Burbidge) Weidinger.  He married Bridgette Carroll on January 22, 1972 in Country Club Hills.  Charles was a retired mason and was a member of Local 502.  He enjoyed hunting, skeet shooting, golf, and bowling.  He was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bridgette Weidinger of Peotone; his son, Charles E. Weidinger III of Peotone; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy (Joe) Stolfy of Frankfort; 2 grandchildren, Chloe Elizabeth Weidinger and Charles “Hunter” Weidinger; a brother, Mark (Carol) Weidinger; and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Kathleen Stevens.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, July 22 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 8:00 p.m., Father Roger Kutzner officiating.  Cremation rites will be accorded following all services and inurnment will take place at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee at a later date.  Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
