Christina Saldivar-Kessinger

Christina F. Saldivar-Kessinger, age 37, of Manteno, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

She was born on April 4, 1984 in Hazel Crest, IL.  Christina was a United States Air Force Veteran serving as a pediatric nurse.  She worked as a registered nurse at Riverside Medical Center.  She married Douglas R. Kessinger on September 15, 2004 in Maryland.  She enjoyed biking with her beloved husband and son.  She loved her dogs and also old records, especially those with music from the 1950’s and singing along with them.

Christina is survived by her husband. Douglas R. Kessinger of Manteno; her son, Noah Kessinger; her mother, Roxanna (Thomas) Lazo of Monee; her father, Jesus (Alicia) Saldivar of Manteno; her brothers, Francisco (Tammy) Saldivar of Oregon, Roberto (Abby) Saldivar of Wisconsin, Ricardo (Carrie) Saldivar of Bradley, and Arturo Saldivar of Manteno; a step-sister, Laura (A.J.) Wood of Kankakee; a step-brother, Alex (Tracy) Casas of Frankfort; many aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.  Military honors will be performed by representatives of the United States Air Force at 7:00 p.m.  Due to the mask mandate by the State of Illinois, the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home.
