Connie Sue Clausing

 Connie Sue Clausing, age 75, of Peotone, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at her home.

 She was born on October 19, 1948, in Puxico, MO, the daughter of Virgil and Marie (Myers) Riney. She married Gary Clausing on September 8, 1988, in Las Vegas, NV. 

Connie was retired from Shapiro Developmental Center in Kankakee. She enjoyed boating and canoeing down the Kankakee River and making floral wreaths, bouquets, and decorations. She loved her family deeply, including her dog, Rocky. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. 

 Connie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gary Clausing. She is also survived by three sons; Larry Haag, Shannon (Jennifer) Haag, and Brian (Heather) Clausing; four grandchildren, Morgan Haag, Cori (Mike) Jacobsen, Patrick Haag, and Colton Clausing; a sister, Diane DeBoer; a sister-in-law, Janet Riney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Marie Riney; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Terry Riney and Russel (Janet) Riney; and a lifelong friend, Kathy Wojciechowski.

 A visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating. Due to the ongoing road construction, Main Street will be closed to traffic. The sidewalks in front of the funeral home will be open and access may be made through the front door. Additional parking will be available in the parking lot of Christ Community Church, 103 W. Corning Ave., Peotone, IL. Entrance then can be made through the back door of the funeral home.
