Cynthia Louise Young

Cynthia Louise Young, 53, of Lockport, Illinois, formerly of Peotone, IL, passed away unexpectedly in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sunday June 30th, 2024, after attending a concert of one of her favorite artists with a close friend.

Cindy was born on October 22nd, 1970, to John and Marlene Young in Kankakee, IL. Cindy graduated from Peotone High School before going on to graduate from the University of Illinois. She worked as the CFO at Northwest Express in Oakbrook Terrace, IL for many years. She loved to spend her free time traveling the world, baking desserts, scrapbooking, planting flowers, and having dance parties with her kids. Cindy was very dedicated to her family and adored any opportunity to spend time together whether it be holiday parties, a family trip, attending sports and band events, or just enjoying a spontaneous afternoon in each other’s company. 

Cindy has two children, Claudia Fisher, born in 1998 and Grant Fisher, born in 1999, as well as a puppy, Ivy. 

Cindy was predeceased by her grandparents, Ralph Pullin, Georgiana Pullin, John Young and Helen Young, as well as her uncle, Ralph Pullin Jr. Cindy is survived by her children, Claudia Fisher, Grant Fisher, her parents John and Marlene Young, and her brothers John Young, Steve (Michelle) Young, Jay (Kim) Young, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 A visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Nancy Wheeler officiating. Due to the ongoing road construction, Main Street will be closed to traffic. The sidewalks in front of the funeral home will be open and access may be made through the front door. Additional parking will be available in the parking lot of Christ Community Church, 103 W. Corning Ave., Peotone, IL. Entrance then can be made through the back door of the funeral home.
