Diane N. Stacy, age 74, of Monee, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 28, 2017.
A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, 112 W. Main St., Peotone, IL on Saturday, May 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend and share their memories as part of this celebration.
Diane was born on November 12, 1943 in Chicago, the daughter of Albert and Matilda (Weiss) Lee. She was an English teacher and guidance counselor at Peotone High School for over 30 years. She volunteered with many organizations such as the Monee Historical Society and local food pantries and also participated in numerous learning exchanges. She was a trustee with the Peotone Library District Board and a member of the Peotone Women’s Club. Diane enjoyed gardening, going on walks in nature, traveling, reading, and going to the theater.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason (Michelle) Stacy of Edwardsville, IL; two grandchildren, Abigail and Margaret; her loving companion, Robert Klocksieben of Monee; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan (John) Fleming of Plainfield; numerous nieces, cousins, and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Lee.
Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or the Pancreatic Cancer Network at www.pancan.org in her name would be appreciated.
