Donald Radtke

Donald J. Radtke, 80, of Peotone, died Tuesday (Jan. 29, 2013) in an automobile accident. Don was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Monee, the son of Ernest and Ardel (nee Clement) Radtke. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and in his garden and particularly enjoyed the Will County Fair. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol (nee Schneider) Radtke, as well as his children, James (Elizabeth) Radtke, of Hopkins, S.C., Donald (Susan) Radtke, of Chapin, S.C., Diane (Ted) Gerndt, of La Grange, Ga., Nancy (Mike) Neiner, of Manteno, Mary Dugan-Bell, of Manteno, Lori (Robert) Anker, of Grant Park, and Lucy Radtke, of Manteno. One brother, Leo (Olivia) Radtke, also survives. Don also leaves to mourn 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Susan and Carol; two brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, Peotone, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, Glenwood. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
