Doris Rogers

Doris L. “Mimi” Rogers, age 89, of Peotone, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in Beecher, IL.

She was born on May 15, 1930 in Fayetteville, TN, the daughter of Fred and Ruby (Davis) Womack.  She married Zachary Taylor Rogers on June 25, 1956 in Huntsville, AL.  He passed away on Nov. 28, 2015.  She was a member of Peotone United Methodist Church.  She collected, bought, and sold antiques and enjoyed garage sales and flea markets.

She is survived by her children, Gary S. (Shirley) Adams of Beecher, Mark A. (Karen) Rogers of Peotone, Melody Jane Nehls of Manteno, and Rodney S. Rogers of Peotone; grandchildren, Haley Katherine Nehls, Zachary Ryan Rogers, Allison J. (Adam) Sanders, Amanda (Charlie) Swartz, Molly Ann Rogers, Justin Adams, Jessica Adams, and Sara (Ian) Hook; 5 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Peg (The late William) Leonard of Fayetteville, TN,    Katherine (Ralph) Luttrel of Fayetteville, TN, Diane (Don) Eck of Peotone, IL, Samantha (Ken) Fly of Lynchburg, TN; 2 brothers, Patrick (Madeline) Womack of Huntland, TN and Rex (Debbie) Womack of Maxwell, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, Fred “Hunky” Womack.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, July 29 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m..  Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m., Rev Richard Young officiating.  Private burial will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.  Memorials to the family’s wishes would be appreciated.
