Dorothy Brady

Dorothy Brady, age 92, of Monee, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL.

She was born on June 7, 1927 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Arthur and Cornelia (Gray) Gust.  She was retired, first teaching at Monee Elementary School and then serving as principal at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ School in Monee.  She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Monee.  She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed many creative endeavors.  Dorothy was a person who touched the lives of many people through her years of teaching and also in many other ways.  She had the tremendous ability to encourage everyone and celebrate their accomplishments.  She had a very caring and generous heart and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her adoring children; Susan (the late David) Karcher, William (Sue) Kuntzman, Dennis (Vicki) Kuntzman, and Kat (Don) Papirnik.  She is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (the late Ben) Settle; and a brother, Arthur (Barb) Gust.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David P. Brady, who passed away on November 25, 2011.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 5323 W. Margaret St., Monee, IL, on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., David Holston officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in her memory.
