Emily Ristau

Emily Lynn Ristau, age 21, of Peotone, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL.

She was born on September 20, 1992 at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, IL. She is survived by her parents, Peter A. and Denise R. (Dougall) Ristau of Peotone; 2 brothers, Peter A. (Brittany) Ristau Jr. of Lafayette, IN and Andrew E. (fiancé Trista Meadlo) Ristau of Peotone; maternal grandparents, Sally A. (the late Jack) Dougall; paternal grandparents, Peter and MaryAnn Ristau; aunts and uncles, Dianna L. (the late Neil) Daly, Donna Sue (the late Dan) Wirth, Susan and Donald Dixon, Karen and Jim Petrassi, Michael and Leslie Ristau, Amy and Todd Gatzke, and Erich Ristau and his wife, Cindy Updyke; and cousins, Jessica and Donald Jr. Dixon, Alexandria, Dominique, and Michaella Petrassi; Ashlie, Danielle, and Kaitlyn Ristau; Ty, J.P., and LeAnne Gatzke; and Hannah and Sarah Daly.

Emily was currently a student at Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School (PMTS) in Bradley, IL. She was a youth group leader and volunteer at Christ Community Church of Peotone. She loved to draw, write, read, and play music; including the piano and the ukulele. She was a fan of British T.V., especially Dr. Who. She especially loved snuggling with her dog, Chloe.

Visitation will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 11049 W. LaPorte Rd., Mokena, IL 60448 on Saturday, May 17, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Grace Fellowship Church on Saturday, May 17 at 4:00 p.m., Pastor Zach Grell will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ronald McDonald House or Advocate Children's Hospital (pediatric cardiology or child life therapy) would be appreciated.
