Gary Bickel

Gary Wayne Bickel, age 61, of Steger, formerly of Peotone, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

He was born on June 12, 1959.  He was the owner/operator of Gary’s Garage in Peotone.  Gary was a car guy.  He enjoyed vintage cars and was a member of the Roman Chariot Club.  He also loved to camp with his family visiting many different locations around the United States.

He is survived by his mother, Maxine (Brown) DeGerlando of Pennsylvania; three children, Andrew (Kayla) Bickel of Demotte, IN, Matthew Bickel of Phoenix, AZ, and Melissa Bickel of Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Bickel; and four sisters, Karen Nelis of Pennsylvania, Carol (Jerry) Gibbons of South Carolina, Mary Bickel of Pennsylvania, and Rose Bickel of Pennsylvania.  He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Bickel.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial celebration of Gary’s life will be announced at a later date.
