Gayle F. Welcome

     Gayle F. Welcome, age 82, of Bourbonnais, IL, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. 

     She was born on March 7, 1941, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Francis and Dolores (DeChalet) Engstrom.  Gayle was of the Catholic faith and prayed to the Sacred Heart of Jesus every day.  She loved animals, especially her best friend and beloved dog, Blackjack, who preceded her in death last year.  She enjoyed watching game shows; especially Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and the Price is Right.  She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

     Gayle is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Glenn Sr.) Haase of Momence, Roxanne (the late David) Santori of Peotone, and Diane Labriola of Bourbonnais; her grandchildren, April (Carlos) Bell, Glenn T. Haase, Jr., Heather (Michael) Pasewald, Carissa Labriola, Phylicia Labriola, and Alicia Labriola; her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Carlos, Blaikley, and Adrien; her brother, Bruce Engstrom of Orland Park; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Robert Welcome; and her sister, Bonita “Bonnie” Gorski.

      A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, 112 W. Main St., Peotone, IL, 60468 with a memorial service being held at 7:00 p.m., Deacon Jim Kelly officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.   Memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.  Share a memory at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
