Gregory S. Pollak, 40, of Peotone, died Friday (Feb. 8, 2013). Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Wednesday until the 8 p.m. funeral service at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, Peotone. The Rev. Larry Banks will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made for his daughters' education fund. Mr. Pollak was a carpenter employed by S.A. Barnes. He was born June 9, 1972, in Kankakee, the son of Walter and June (Samuel) Pollak. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone. He was an avid motocross racer and a member of the American Motorcycle Association. He was also a member of Carpenters Local 174. He loved to do fine woodworking and was considered a master carpenter. He especially loved spending time outdoors with his girls. Surviving are his wife, the former Kirsha Pilbeam, of Peotone, whom he married May 24, 1997; two daughters, Quinn and Breck Pollak, both of Peotone; his parents, of Manteno; two sisters, Barbara (Robert) Musch, of Belgium, and Jennifer (Gus) Pollak-Paschalis, of Mount Prospect; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Audrey Pilbeam, of Kankakee; brother-in-law, Mike (Megan) Pilbeam, of Manteno; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, David; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
