Jeanne Oliver

Jeanne Ruth (Montpetit) Oliver, age 88, of Peotone, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

She was born on March 1, 1927 in Peotone, the daughter of the late Walter and Charlotte (Conrad) Montpetit. She was a former nursery aide at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. She was a member of the Peotone United Methodist Church and Peotone American Legion Auxiliary. She bowled for many years in Peotone leagues, enjoyed playing euchre, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by five children; Ralph “Jack” (Wanda) Oliver Jr. of Cleveland, TN, Laurie (Eric) Morse of Peotone, Shelley (Gary) Crews of Florida, Jeffrey (Jean Marie) Oliver of Peotone, and Michael (Cindy) Oliver of Peotone; eleven grandchildren, Kim (Eric) Smith, Joey (Jennifer) Oliver, Shelley (Don) Marevka, Daryl (Kelly) Morse, Danielle (Todd) LaRoche, Andrew (Kristin) Crews, David Crews, Nathan (Ashley) Oliver, Katie Oliver, Brittany (Quinn) Pedigo, and Renee (Kevin) Shaide; 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Winkie) Montpetit of Manteno; one sister, Patricia Hacek of Manteno; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Oliver was also a foster parent to numerous children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ralph F. Oliver Sr. (February 27, 1996); a son, Daniel; a son-in-law, Gary Morse; a sister, Shirley Ivanoff; a brother, Buddy Montpetit; and a brother-in-law, James Hacek.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 22 at 8:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Memorials to the Peotone United Methodist Church or the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
