Joan Pool

Joan E. (Lovison) Pool, age 88, of Peotone, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Provena Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais, IL. She was born on October 15, 1926 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Elisa (Velo) Lovison. She married the late Warren D. Pool Jr. on February 14, 1949 in Chicago. He died on February 12, 2015. She was a retired nurse working at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. She enjoyed knitting, reading, shopping, and dancing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family being the best mom and grandmother possible.

She is survived by three daughters; Denise Joslyn of San Pedro, CA, Pam (Dennis) Tattersall of Peotone, and Donna (Tommy) Rauch Lanford of Spartanburg, SC; a son, Daniel Pool of Bourbonnais; grandchildren, Douglas Joslyn III, Domonique Joslyn, Desiree Joslyn, Todd Domagalla, Keri (Mike) Nicotra, Melissa Domagalla, Leah Domagalla, Mike (Nicki) Tattersall, Dustin (Juli) Tattersall, Kathleen Tattersall, Jeffrey Rauch, Andrea Rauch, Danielle Pool, and Ryan Pool; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Lisa J. Domagalla (Dec. 11, 2009); a son-in-law, Gary Domagalla (Sept. 27, 1994); a great-grandson, Kyle Lawrence Bogart Domagalla; three sisters, Josie, Annie, and Ines; and two brothers, Bill and Joe.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, October 15 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m., Father Roger Kutzner officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (Parkinson ’s disease research) would be appreciated.
