John L. Herman II entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27, 2020 as a result of Pulmonary Blastomycosis. He entered heaven with grace and dignity surrounded by loved ones in Wauwatosa, WI.

John was born August 12, 1987. He graduated Homewood-Flossmoor High School where he had his first experience and started his lifelong interest in fencing. He attended Kankakee Community College and attended Hocking College. While attending Kankakee Community College John met the love of his life, Sarah Love. They were married May 31, 2014. They have two adorable daughters: Gwendolyn, age 4; and Genevieve, age 2.

He is survived by his mother Mary, step-father Edward, and brothers: Robert, Joseph, Eric, and Brett. Loving Uncle of: Kylee, Charlotte, Stanley, and Kael. Grandmothers: Anita Rzab and Maureen Herman. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Loving in-laws: Pastor Donald Love and Kim Love, Jeremy and Eric.

He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandfather, John Lawrence Herman, for who he was named in memory of; and his maternal Grandfather, Stanley Rzab, who had a profound impact on his life and character.

John worked as a 911 dispatcher in Iroquois County, IL and then as dispatcher for Karl’s Transport in WI. John loved his work in that it was fast paced and required problem solving and calm thinking under pressure.

John had a quick wit and loved to laugh. He also had many diverse interests. He had a love of the outdoors which developed during his time as a Boy Scout, and grew as adult to include camping, hiking and gardening.  Additionally he had a passion for science fiction and loved Star Wars. He also loved gaming of all types, Renaissance fare, heavy metal, photography, animals, and perhaps most importantly, he was good in the kitchen.
