Joseph Cantafio

Joseph N. Cantafio, age 91, of Monee, IL, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018 at his home.

He was born on February 24, 1927 in Chicago, the son of the late Dominico G. and Maria Angela (Graziano) Cantafio.  He married the late Frances Elizabeth Cantafio on September 15, 1950.  Joseph was retired from the Department of Public Works in the Village of Homewood.  He served as an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Homewood for over 50 years.  Joseph was a simple man and family was everything to him.  He enjoyed traveling and camping with his son and grandson and mall walking.

He is survived by his son, Paul (Bambi-Linn) Cantafio of Peotone; his grandson, Brian Cantafio. and “Anne” Undirakh Zundui, his care giver for the past several years.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his brother, Dominick George Cantafio.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, September 13 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.  Private family graveside services will be held at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood.
