Joseph Lee Eschbach, age 67, of Jensen Beach, FL, formerly of Green Garden, IL; passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
He was born on August 11, 1950 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Joseph E. and Norma Lee (McDoniel) Eschbach. He was a third generation structural steel fabricator of Northern Industrial Steel. He also served as Green Garden Township Supervisor and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for several years and was a lifetime Parrothead. He was a member of numerous clubs on Nettles Island where he currently lived. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and golfing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Eileen (McMahon) Eschbach of Jensen Beach, FL who he married on December 12, 1970 in Palos Heights, IL. He is also survived by his children; Darcie Huizenga of Lansing, IL, Amy (Ed) Marevka of Peotone, Kate Eschbach of Whiting, IN, and Jeff Eschbach of Peotone; his grandchildren, Calvin and Rebecca Huizenga and Emily, Joshua, Justin, and Christian Marevka; his sisters, Pam (the late David) Blair of Grand Blanc, MI and Karyn (Mike) Garren of Tinley Park, IL; his mother-in-law, Annette McMahon of Crown Point, IN; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maureen and Joe Gurican, Kathy and Pat Casey, Kevin and Marilynn McMahon, Jeannine McMahon and Ron Couch, Fran and D.J. Fioretti, and Bob and Jill McMahon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Mike (Judy) Eschbach; and his father-in-law, Robert McMahon.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m., Deacon Milt Leppert officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Memorials may be directed to the family’s wishes.
