Judith Schroth

Judith A. Schroth, age 66, of Peotone, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family and beloved pets.

She was born on December 3, 1954 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Donald and Patricia (Milligan) Hartman. Judy worked as a school bus driver for Peotone School District 207U for over 25 years and also worked for Standard Shuttle Service.   She loved reading, scrolling through Facebook to keep up with family and friends, and all animals.  She also enjoyed bowling in the league at Peotone Bowling Center, visiting the Peotone American Legion, and going to the local casino and playing the slot machines.  She was the true matriarch of her family; a very selfless person who took great joy in watching her family and all others grow and thrive; celebrating all of their accomplishments.  Judy was a loving mother to her children and an especially loving and supportive grandmother to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Kelly (Evan) Graves of Peotone and Matt (Andy Parenty) Schroth of Joliet; her grandchildren, Jon Schroth and Adrianna Dietz; 2 brothers, Bill (Renee) Hartman and Donnie Hartman; long-time companion, Don Thurman Jr.; the entire Thurman Family; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Special recognition given to Nicki Smith and Dawn Baron along with all others who provided love and support to Judy over the years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dale C. Schroth (September 13, 1981); a sister, Jessica Lynn Hartman; a brother, Jim Hartman; and a grandson, Adam Dietz Jr.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, May 29 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. with funeral services being held at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Don Borling officiating.  The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page at 2:00 p.m.  Due to the global health pandemic (Covid-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.
