LeRoy Lohmann, age 88, of Peotone, formerly of Beecher, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Beecher Manor, Beecher, IL.
LeRoy was born on October 11, 1927 in Beecher, IL, the son of the late Henry and Rosa (Schmidt) Lohmann. He married the late Marjorie J. (Klemme) Lohmann on April 21, 1951 in Beecher, IL. She passed away on April 29, 2016. He was a retired farmer, a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone, enjoyed spending time with his family, going to dinner with friends and playing pinochle. He and Marjorie also enjoyed traveling together.
He is survived by two daughters, Lou Ann McKain of Grant Park and Denise Langreder of Beecher; four grandchildren, Lenny McKain of Grant Park, Matthew (Jenna) McKain of Grant Park, David (fiancé Mindy) Langreder of Beecher, and Dwaine (Michelle) Langreder of Roselle; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa (the late Arnold) Bruns of Beecher and Lois (John) Wierl of Beecher; and one sister-in-law, Marjorie Lohmann of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Bernice Haseman and Elda Bell; and two brothers, Henry and Herbert Lohmann.
A memorial service for both LeRoy and Marjorie Lohmann will be held at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Dwight Gorbold and Nancy Wheeler officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
