Lisa Elizabeth Nietfeldt

     Lisa Elizabeth (Werner) Nietfeldt, age 58, of Peotone, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, June 8, 2024.  Beloved wife of Kevin Nietfeldt, loving mother of Jacob Nietfeldt, treasured daughter of Ron and Joyce Werner; cherished sister of Jeff (Jennifer) Werner, Dave Werner, Andy (Suzie) Werner, and John (Jennie) Werner, fond daughter-in-law of Marge Soellner; esteemed sister-in-law of Scott (Suzette) Nietfeldt, Marty (Jennifer) Soellner, and Daphne Soellner; dear niece of Mary Lou (Wayne) Ruder and Sue Christenson; devoted aunt to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a dear friend to many.  Lisa was preceded in death by her son, Dylan Nietfeldt; fathers-in-law, Milton Nietfeldt and Dene Soellner; and grandparents, Dale and Rhea Christenson and Lewis and Lotus Werner.

      After graduating from Peotone High School in 1983, Lisa went on to work for Gas City Corporate Offices before becoming the co-owner of Nietfeldt Insurance of Manteno, IL in 1996.   Outside of work she had a very adventurous spirit and loved to travel with her family.  At home Lisa could always be found watching her favorite reality television shows or surfing the web for the best shopping deals she could find with a good cup of coffee in her hand and her dogs by her side.  Lisa will always be remembered as an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities; unconditional love, endearing sense of humor, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends.

      A visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Rev. Terry Krouskoupf officiating.  Due to the ongoing road construction, Main Street will be closed to traffic.  The sidewalks in front of the funeral home will be open and access may be made through the front door.  Additional parking will be available in the parking lot of Christ Community Church, 103 W. Corning Ave., Peotone, IL.  Entrance then can be made through the back door of the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.
