Visitation for Lloyd A. Froehner, 89, or rural Peotone, will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the noon funeral service at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, Peotone. The Rev. John Billow will officiate. Interment will be in Peotone Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason, James and John Froehner, Jeff Temme, Eric Greenquist, Joe Iwanus and Craig Wojciechowski. Memorials may be made to the Plassmann Scholarship Fund of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone. He died Friday (Feb. 8, 2013) at ManorCare Health Services in Kankakee. Mr. Froehner was a farmer and also worked as a carpenter/contractor. He was born July 28, 1923, the son of Alvin and Edith Younker Froehner. His wife, the former Doris E. Sjo, whom he married April 21, 1945, in Peotone, preceded him in death Aug. 19, 2009. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Peotone. He was a lifetime member of the Peotone Sportsmen's Club. He especially enjoyed traveling and camping in Texas. Surviving are one son, Paul (LaVerne) Froehner, of Peotone; one daughter, Lynn (Duane) Temme, of Peotone; daughter-in-law, Donna Froehner, of Peotone; grandchildren, Jason (Sarah), James (Nikki), and John (Meghan) Froehner, Jeff (Nicole) Temme, Brenda (Ron) Temme, Deanna (Eric) Greenquist, Heather (Joe) Iwanus and Angela (Craig) Wojciechowski; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois (Chuck) Hannan, of Evergreen Park. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ralph L. Froehner (2008).
