Lucille Eva Cast, age 89, of Peotone, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at home following declining health and battling Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on July 31, 1929 in Indiana, the daughter of Clem and Bessie (Baker) Dennis. Lucille was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, crafting, playing cards, and camping. After her late husband, Bill, retired they went on the road to enjoy their passion for motor home camping. Her greatest pleasure in life came from her family and friends. Most of all she loved being a Grandma.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Linda Cast Pleckham and her husband Wayne Johnston of Peotone. She was the proud grandma of three grandchildren; Thomas (Andrea) Pleckham of Monee, Sharon (Joe) Zobel of Frankfort, and the late Steven Ray Pleckham. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gerri Dennis of Beecher; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Cleveland Cast; her beloved grandson, Steven Ray Pleckham; a brother, Marvel Dennis; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lucinda (Ray) Burton.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9 from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Richard Young officiating. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Kankakee Valley would be appreciated.
