Lucille Emma Schroeder

Lucille Emma Schroeder, age 101, of Mokena, formerly of Monee, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

  Lucille was born on March 12, 1922, in Green Garden Township, IL, the daughter of Phillip and Lydia (Bauer) Seggebruch.  She married Lloyd C. Schroeder on April 25, 1942, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Peotone.  Lloyd passed away on February 14, 1997.  Lucille was baptized at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Monee where she was a lifelong member.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and working in the yard.  She especially loved doing anything she could to help all the members of her family.

Lucille is survived by her two daughters, Denise Schroeder of Mokena and Diane Amayo of Chicago; her two grandsons, Ralph Amayo Jr. and Richard Amayo; several nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.  Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her two brothers, Leroy Seggebruch and Raymond Seggebruch; sister-in-law’s Naomi Buchmeier, Lorie Matson, Dolores Schroeder, Loretta Seggebruch, and Lillian Seggebruch; and brother-in-law’s, Louis Buchmeier, Glenn Matson, and Lyle Schroeder. 

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone, IL, on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. with funeral services being held at 11:30 a.m., Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard officiating.  Internment will take place at Peotone Cemetery.  Memorials in her name may be directed to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or www.lightways.org.
