Mary F. Urbanek

Mary F. Urbanek, age 81, of Peotone, IL, passed away at her home on Monday, April 21, 2025.

She was born on October 9, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Wilson and Frances (Foy) Orsini. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Terrence P. Urbanek on April 10, 2024, and her daughter, Cathy Urbanek, on January 26, 2022.

Mary was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. She was employed at Russell Publications in Peotone for many years. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching.

Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Noelle and John Gocal; her son, David Urbanek; 6 grandchildren, Jim, Chris, Jake (Kate), Danny (Lauryn), Mandy (Lute), and Kenzi; her great-grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, Greyson, Jayde, Ayla, Hunter, Evelynn, and another on the way; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Orsini; and 2 sisters, Phyllis Ramsey and Paula (the late Michael) Masnick .  

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a funeral service held at 4:00 p.m., Deacon Jim Kelly officiating. Committal service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
