Maureen Coghlan

Maureen Therese Coghlan, age 83, of Monee, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, IL.

She was born on November 2, 1937 in Evergreen Park, IL, the daughter of John and Lillian (Schneider) Sula.  She married Lawrence “Larry” Joseph Coghlan Sr. on December 31, 1957 in Chicago.  He passed away on January 5, 2014.  Maureen was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort and prior to that a long-time active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone.  Maureen’s greatest wish was for all of her family to follow in the footprints of the Lord.

She is survived by her loving children; Maureen (Mike) Beierman of Monee,  Mark Coghlan of Chicago, Lisa (Scott) Siemsen of Monee, and Michelle (John) Lumb of Peotone; her loving grandchildren, Mallory (Mark) Coghlan, Corinne (Ryan) Coghlan, Scott (Amber) Siemsen, Kathleen (Jacob) Grant, Daniel Siemsen, Zachary (Holly) Lumb, Joshua Lumb, Jarrett Lumb, Michael Beierman, and McKayla Beierman; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry; 2 sons, Daniel Malachy Coghlan and Lawrence “Larry” Coghlan Jr.; and a sister, Bonnie McGinnis.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trail, Frankfort, IL on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., Father Dennis Paul officiating. Due to the global health pandemic (Covid-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and the church for the funeral service and social distancing must be observed.  Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the wishes of the family.
