Milbert Seaver Johnson, 90, of Peotone, died Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2013) at his home. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home, Peotone, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. John Billow will officiate. Interment will be in the Peotone Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Peotone Paramedics or to the donor's choice. Mr. Johnson was a lifelong farmer in the Peotone area. He also worked as a seed and fertilizer salesman. He owned and operated his own trucking firm, hauling grain and livestock. He was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Peotone Township, the son of Seaver and Lillian (Peters) Johnson. His wife, the former Mary DuBovi, whom he married Jan. 22, 1964, preceded him in death March 11, 2010. He was president of the Will County Fair Association for more than 50 years. He was very active and dedicated to the fair and spent many hours working to make sure everything was done correctly. He was a member of the Will County Farm Bureau and the Central Illinois Green Club. He enjoyed working with horses. Surviving are his cousins, Leatrice Johnson, Loretta Johnson and Chester (Beverly) Johnson, all of Monee; daughter-in-law, Lorrie Corgan, of Tinley Park; granddaughters, Kathy (Joe) Corgan-May, of Oswego, Karen Plath, of Homewood, and Sheri Corgan, of Winfield; and great-grandchildren, Joe and Kristi Plath. He was preceded in death by his parents and cousin, Oliver Johnson.
