Myron "Mike" Krapf

 Myron “Mike” W. Krapf, age 85, of Bourbonnais, formerly of Chicago, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2025, at his home.

 He was born at home in Peotone on April 7, 1939, the son of the late Conrad William and Esther (Fahs) Krapf. Mike was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He worked as an optician on Michigan Ave. in Chicago until his retirement. In his younger years he enjoyed racing stock cars. Mike was passionate about astronomy. He built his own telescope and enjoyed traveling to Wyoming where he could gaze at the Northern Lights and all the other wonders of the universe. He was an avid reader and was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.

 He is survived by his twin sister, Marie (the late Henry “Hank”) Sallee of Peotone; his nephews, Keith, Kyle, and David; his nieces, Connie and Patty; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers; Robert, Roland, and Richard Krapf.  

 Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with military honors and a memorial service being held at 6:00 p.m., Rev.
