Nancy Kochel

Nancy A. Kochel, age 76, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at her home in Crete, IL.

She was born on December 15, 1943 in Medford, WI, the daughter of Clifford and Matilda (Wegerer) Jakel.  She married Steven O. Kochel on July 1, 1961 in Monee, IL.  Nancy was a homemaker.  Her greatest joy was taking care of her children and all other children.

She is survived by her husband, Steven O. Kochel of Crete; her children, Jeffrey (Linda Latty) Kochel of Crete, Angela (James) Griffin of Yorkville, and Julia (David) Hernandez of Chicago; her grandchildren, Aiden, Colin, Riley, and Brady Griffin and Kyla and Nayeli Hernandez; and a sister, Sandra Hill of Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Lawrence Jakel.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, November 7 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a memorial service being held at 4:00 p.m., Chaplain Steve Hoerger officiating.  The memorial service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials in Nancy’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
