Penny M. Papp

     Penny M. Papp, age 58, of Peotone, passed on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL surrounded by her loving family.

     She was born on April 14, 1964 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas F. and Diana E. (Smith) Papp.  Penny was employed by First Community Bank in Peotone as Branch Manager for 25 years.  She loved everything about Christmas and was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.  Penny really loved her family, especially enjoying her sister weekends and family trips.  She also loved her dogs, especially her grand-dog, Kona.  Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. 

     Penny is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mandi and John Byrne of Peotone; her grandchildren, Emmett and Dylan Byrne; her sisters, Tammy (Steve) Hoffman of Peotone, Kimberly Molik of Manteno, and Christy Papp of Lockport; her nieces, Jill (Justin) Schroeder, Jami (Dave) Cyrier, Kara Molik, Kali (Ryan) Lancaster, and Lauren Nelson; her nephew, Tommy (Cassidy) Meyer; her brother-in-law, William Gregory Meyer; and her great-nephews and great-nieces, Kobe (Faith) Baumgartner, Madison and Mallory Schroeder, Liam and Sadie Cyrier, Everly Lancaster, Lincoln Schultz, Sunny Joo Meyer, and Kylee Nelson.

     She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas F. Papp (July 20, 2015); her mother, Diana E. Papp (January 7, 2020); and her sister, Carey L. Meyer (February 5, 2019).

     Cremation rites have been accorded.  A memorial visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service being held at 7:00 p.m., Deacon Jim Kelly officiating.  Memorials in her name may be directed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) or Hopeful Tails of Joliet, IL.
