Peter F. White, age 64, of Manteno, IL, passed away on February 8, 2025, after a long illness. Born on November 29, 1960, in Chicago, IL, he was the beloved son of Evelyn and Francis White, who preceded him in death.
Peter was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Cari (Knutson) White, with whom he shared a life full of love, adventure, and mutual passions. He is survived by his siblings, Paula (Ken) Jacobi, Muriel (Nalen) LaRoche, and Paul (Angie) White, as well as his nieces, Meghan (Ryan) Businaro, Lauren (Joe) Jurasits, Grace White, and Natalie White. He also leaves behind several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Peter was a retired optician. Beyond his profession, he was a man of many talents. He was an avid outdoorsman with a deep passion for hunting and loved sharing that experience with others, especially his wife, Cari. He was also a gifted chef, known for his incredible culinary skills and the joy he found in cooking for family and friends. Additionally, Peter had a remarkable ability to fix anything—whether it was mechanics, electronics, or carpentry, there was no challenge he wouldn’t tackle.
His commitment to the causes he cared about was unwavering; if something mattered to him, he would fight for it wholeheartedly. Among his many roles, one of his proudest was being the World’s Best Cat Dad to his beloved cat Samantha.
Peter’s presence, wisdom, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family and friends will carry his memory with them always.
