Rachel Annette Fox

     Rachel Annette Fox, age 36, of Peotone, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL.

     She was born on October 4, 1987, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James Allan Sr.

and Donna (nee Schwer) Fox.  

     Rachel is survived by her mother, Donna Fox; her sister, Renée Fox Weaver (Kyle); her nephew, Lucas Weaver; her maternal grandmother, Annette Schwer (Dennis); her aunts and uncles, Darlene and Ronald Dymerski, Linda Cook, Mary Schwer, and Pam and Rich Bruns; by her cousins, who were her best friends; Donald Roy Schwer III (Laura), Anjanette Vaughan (Marc), Ryan Schwer (Christina), Erica Ewald (Ryan), Arianna Wiegmann (Zach), Deanna Rodriguez (Alex), Maureen Schwer (Josh), Ronald Dymerski Jr., and Samantha Griffin (Shane); and her companion dog, Kita.

     Rachel was preceded in death by her father, James Allan Fox Sr.; her brother, James Allan Fox Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Jim and Virginia Fox; her maternal grandfather, Donald Roy Schwer Sr.; and two uncles, Donald Roy Schwer Jr. and Donald Cook.

     She was a Peotone High School graduate, Class of 2006 and graduated from Elim Bible Institute in 2010.  Rachel was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Beecher.  

She was an avid movie watcher and loved playing games with her family.  Rachel was a very quiet person who had a fantastic sense of humor but was always brutally honest.

She loved spending time with her family.  

     A visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Due to the ongoing road construction, Main Street will be closed to traffic.  The sidewalks in front of the funeral home will be open and access may be made through the front door.  Additional parking will be available in the parking lot of Christ Community Church, 103 W. Corning Ave., Peotone, IL.  Entrance then can be made through the back door of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church, 540 Oak Park Ave., Beecher, IL at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Michael Stein officiating.  There will be visitation from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.  The burial will take place at Peotone Cemetery.
