Ralph Stadt

Ralph L. Stadt, age 76, of Cherokee Village, AR and Manteno, IL, formerly of Peotone, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home peacefully, surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 17, 1939 in Sollitt, IL, the son of the late Raymond and Grace (Richmond) Stadt. He married the late Sharon L. (Beaver) Stadt on December 16, 1961 in Peotone. She passed away on September 10, 2015. He was retired from Caterpillar Inc. of Joliet where he was a member of the machinist’s union. He was an avid fisherman, belonged to many fishing organizations, and participated in numerous fishing tournaments. He also enjoyed woodworking. He was a Marine Corp Reserve Veteran. He loved his family and his dogs.

He is survived by two daughters, Lori (Bruce) Borden of Manhattan, IL and Roberta Chavez of Manteno, IL; seven grandchildren, Linnea Borden, Brandon Borden, Laurie Ann Stadt, Corey Stadt, Tiffany (Adam) Toepper, Nick Chavez, and Stefanie Chavez; seven great-grand-children, Colton-David and Avery; Lorne and Ira; Olsen, Gavin, and Lakin; three brothers, Ronald (Jan) Stadt of Channahon, IL, Vern (Pat) Stadt of Michigan, and Gerald Stadt of Beecher, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, and a son, David R. Stadt (January 17, 2004), and an infant sister, Patty Ann (1941)

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 6 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Peotone Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
