Rena Rhodes

Rena M. Rhodes, age 92, of rural Monee, IL, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago, IL.

She was born on January 22, 1929 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Harry and Geraldine (Ledyard) Seaman.  Rena worked as a clerk at several auto auctions in the area.  She attended Green Garden United Methodist Church and was an animal advocate rescuing many pets over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel Rhodes; her children, Linda Dillon of Danville, IN and Ron (Aga) Rhodes of Chicago, IL; and her grandchildren, Linda Simulis Richardson and Jackie Richards.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 4:00 p.m., Rev. Richard Young officiating. Due to the global health pandemic (COVID-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed.  The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page.  Private burial will take place at Peotone Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the South Suburban Humane Society, 1103 West End Ave., Chicago Heights, IL 60411 or at https://www.southsuburbanhumane.org/donate
