Rita Gerlich

Rita Faye Gerlich, age 60, of Peotone, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

She was born on September 10, 1960 in Hazel Crest, IL, the daughter of LeRoy and Shirley (Marshall) Morrison.  Rita worked for the Illinois Tourism Bureau and prior to that for Midwest Physicians Group in Olympia Fields, IL.  She enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting Las Vegas, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Gerlich who she married on May 19, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV; her daughter, Nicole (Zach DuFrain) Gerlich of Peotone; her brother and sister-in-law, Ron (Jennifer) Morrison of Bourbonnais; her sister and brother-in-law, Renee (Bill) Kimbrel of Peotone; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy on February 2, 2008 and her mother, Shirley, on December 13, 2020.

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. with funeral services being held at 6:00 p.m., Pastor Kevin DeVries officiating.  Private burial will take place at Peotone Cemetery.  Due to the global health pandemic (COVID-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed.  The funeral service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the wishes of the family.
