Sean McGrath Jr.

Sean L. McGrath Jr., age 18, of Peotone, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 13, 2021.

Sean was born on April 8, 2002 in Naperville, IL.  He was a member of the 2020 graduating class at Peotone High School where he as a member of the marching band playing the flute and drums.  He enjoyed board and video gaming.  Sean also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking in the woods and deer hunting.

Sean is survived by his father and step-mother, Sean L. Sr. and Tamara McGrath of Minooka; his mother and step-father, Amanda and Timothy Reyling of Peotone; his brothers and sisters, Jack, Molly, Heather, Wyatt, Eleanor, Benjamin, and Parker; his paternal grandparents, George and Nancy McGrath; his maternal grandfather, James O’Hearn; and extra grandparents, Lynda Reyling and Jacob Reyling.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Marcia Lacey.  He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Amber McGrath, Aileen (Peter) O’Hearn, Dylan (Tanya) O’Hearn, Rachel (Brent) Rose, Andrea (Joe) Reyling, and Valerie (Jared) Reyling; and his cousins, Meadow, Cooper, Kylie, Abigail, and another soon to be born cousin.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service being held at 4:00 p.m., Deacon Jim Kelly officiating.  The memorial service will be live-streamed on the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home Facebook page.  Due to the global health pandemic (COVID-19) the wearing of a face covering will be required to enter the funeral home and social distancing must be observed.  Memorials may be directed the wishes of the family.
