Verda Batdorf

Verda M. Batdorf, age 89, of Peotone, formerly of Thornton, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
She was born on August 10, 1927 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Roy and Frieda (Thiesfeld) Millis. She married the late Donald A. Batdorf on September 29, 1956 in Chicago. He died on February 9, 2013. Verda was a past member of The Village Church in Dyer, IN. She was an avid Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs, and Bears fan. She enjoyed needlepoint and fishing. She especially loved to spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna (Jim) Heber and Karin (Richard) Dennis both of Peotone, a grandson, Michael Heber, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Jeffrey L. Batdorf (July 4, 2009); two brothers, Roy and Marvin Millis; and one sister, Letty Seils.
Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Richard Young officiating. Burial will be at Peotone Cemetery. Memorials to the Family’s Wishes would be appreciated.
