Victor Edmund Loitz, age 66, of Peotone, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Granbury Villa in Granbury, Texas.
He was born on May 10, 1955 in Kankakee County, the son of Robert and Donna Loitz of Peotone Illinois. Growing up in Peotone, he was a graduate of the 1973 class of Peotone High School. From there he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating Class of 1977 with a B.S.A. Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, then furthered his education to obtain a law degree from St. Louis City College of Law, Class of 1980, J.D. After law school Victor resided in Boulder, Colorado. He worked as a lawyer in Denver, Colorado and eventually started his private practice in General Practice Bankruptcy. During this time, he moved to Westminster, Colorado where he resided until his passing. He enjoyed his family residence, “The Farm”, in Peotone and attended church as a long-time member of the Peotone United Methodist Church. He encouraged business and entrepreneurship within his community. He loved the outdoor living experience in both Colorado and the Peotone farm. Travel was one of his passions, an avid reader of current affairs, and enjoyed his close friends.
He is survived by his brother Joseph (Joe) Loitz and nephew Andrew J. Loitz of Coral Springs, FL., four aunts, Barbara Annette (Charles) Simmons of Kankakee, Marsha Rose (the late Del) Posing of Kankakee, Willa Glen (Col. Patrick) Murphy of Massena, NY and Marie Kathleen Davis of Massena, NY., and 3 cousins, Andrea Thomas of Granbury, Texas; Frances Mansfield of Granbury, Texas; and Constance Blake of Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert N. Loitz on October 10, 2012 and Donna D Loitz on July 6, 2019.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Peotone United Methodist Church, Rev. Richard Young officiating. That will be followed by a 2:00PM luncheon at the Peotone Legion Hall organized by his close friends. If you plan on attending the luncheon, please RSVP to Jeff Oliver at 708-269-6871.
