Victor Luehrs

Victor L. Luehrs, age 62, of Manteno, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

He was born on June 30, 1957 in Harvey, IL, the son of Ralph W. and Lorraine B. (Steinhauer) Luehrs, Sr. Victor worked as a butcher for Dominick’s Grocery for over 30 years until retiring and was a member of the UFCW Butcher’s Union.  He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his many, many friends at Manteno Sportsmen’s Club.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Annie (Jon) Kirby of Kentucky; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin (Brandie) Luehrs of California; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian, Elise, Xander, Emma, Gracie Mae, and Colt; the love of his life, Mary Lewis; his brothers and sisters, Dennis (Debbie) Luehrs of Florida, Gerald (Eileen) Luehrs of Lansing, Deborah (Bert) Weaver of Momence, Sharon (David) Wurster of Manteno, Ralph (Cindy) Luehrs, Jr. of Orion, John (Renee) Luehrs of Manhattan, and Laura (Allen) LoCascio of Manteno;  a sister-in-law, Susan Luehrs of Bourbonnais; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph W. Luehrs, Sr. (September 3, 2013); his mother, Lorraine B. Luehrs (September 17, 2017; and a brother, Donald W. Luehrs (June 19, 2001).

Visitation will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Saturday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Barbara Lohrbach officiating.  Cremation rites will be accorded following all services.  Memorials may be made to the family’s wishes.
