William “Bill” Osborne, age 67, of Peotone, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
He was born on July 6, 1957, in Chicago Heights, IL, the son of James “Jim” and Carolyn (Oliver) Osborne. Bill wore many hats as a devoted husband, father, papa, son, brother, the loved and famous Uncle Billy, friend, plastic bottle Bill, and Augie. He was the jack of all trades and the fixer of all things. If you knew Bill, he probably helped you with a project or a problem at one time or another. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He was a longtime member of the Peotone Fire Protection District retiring after 32 years at the rank of Battalion Chief. He currently served as a trustee on the Manhattan/Peotone Fire Protection District Board. He worked for Nicor for over 30 years, retiring in 2015.
Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vickie (Wright) Osborne; his children, Joshua (Kelly) Osborne, Christopher (Shelby) Osborne, and Brianna Lubert; his grandchildren, Shaylee Osborne-Zuelke, Keegan Krug, Zoey Osborne, Cambrian Osborne, Sophia Osborne, Corbin Pistilli, Luke Lubert, Ava Lubert, and Brayden Lubert; his brothers and sister, Alan (Lisa) Osborne, David (Deb) Osborne, Cindy (George) Cole, Timothy (Kristi) Osborne; and Gregory Osborne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill’s family invites everyone to dress casually like he enjoyed doing. Jeans and flannels are more than appropriate. The burial will be at Peotone Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Manhattan Fire Protection District in Bill's name would be appreciated. Share a memory at www.feddehelfrichcrossfh.com
